Who We Are The Mental Health Association in Genesee County is a non-profit, tax exempt organization, dedicated to the promotion of mental health, the prevention of mental illness, and the improved care and rehabilitation of persons with mental illness.
The MHA is located at 25 Liberty Street in Batavia. As an affiliate of the Mental Health Association of New York State and the National Mental Health Association, we have access to program information and other resources from across the state and nation.
What We Do The Mental Health Association in Genesee County is a community support service that responds to identified community needs including the following:
The Place to Be Social Club: is a safe environment for individuals with a diagnosed mental illness to gain social skills and have healthy social interaction through a variety of daily, weekly and monthly activities.
Trauma Services Program: Developing and implementing services for trauma survivors through education, prevention, training and coordination of resources based on the needs survivors and providers have identified. Crisis intervention and advocacy services are also provided.
MICA Services Program: (mental illness/chemical abuse) Developing and implementing services for MICA clients through education, prevention, training and coordination of resources based on the needs MICA clients and providers have identified. Crisis intervention and advocacy services are also provided.
Transportation Services: Transportation is provided free of charge for Social Club members to and from club, as well as doctor's appointments, local shopping, laundromat and other places as needed.
